Srinagar, February 11 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Monday paid tributes to Waseem Ahmad Rather of Ashmuji Kulgam, Aqib Nazir Mir of Zangulpora Devsar, Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat of Qaimoh, Idrees Ahmad Bhat of Arwani and Zahid Ahmad Parray of Gopalpora D.H Pora. “The five brave hearts achieved martyrdom at Kellam during a fierce gunfight with the Indian forces and their supporters,” JKDFP said in a statement issued to KNO. The Spokesperson said that “our youth are being butchered on daily basis because they want an end to the occupation which has affected the lives of Kashmiri people in every respect throughout the years ever since 1947.” He said that “our youth are fighting for their basic and fundamental rights and instead of giving them heed they are being massacred day in and day out.” JKDFP spokesperson said that if India wants to end the ongoing bloodshed in the disputed region it must shun its traditional stubbornness and come with a political approach so that the dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the people once for all. Meanwhile, JKDFP reiterated its demand for the return of mortal remains of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru, who were hanged and buried in Tihar jail, Delhi on February 11, 1984 and February 9, 2013 respectively. A party delegation led by Engineer Farooq visited Trehgam, the native place of Maqbool Bhat and paid homage to both Maqbool and Afzal Guru whose nears and dears are still waiting for their mortal remains.(KNO)
